This is how Statistics Norway explains the wage gap in Norway
On 13 January, Statistics Norway published a report on the wage gap in Norway, and in the report explains many of the reasons for the wage differences.
NITO's president, Trond Markussen, comments the following about the report:
"It is important to identify the reasons for the pay gap between men and women in Norway. The report from Statistics Norway is an important contribution to this.
"We see that the wage differences among the highest paid, and differences between the industries, contribute a lot.
- There is still an unexplained pay gap between women and men. Here, the parties, and especially the employer, have a great responsibility," Markussen emphasizes.
Separate report for engineers and technologists
NITO has co-financed this report. Statistics Norway also produces a separate report using the same method, especially for engineers and technologists. NITO looks forward to it being available in March.
