We live in an uncertain world - how did we get here, and what will happen in the future?

There is war in Europe. The threat from the east suddenly appears far more real. On top of it all, Donald Trump has taken over as president of the United States. We are experiencing military rearmament both in Norway and in the rest of the world.

What does the future actually look like from a security and geopolitical perspective, and what can the engineers contribute?

Lecturer Gjermund Eide

Gjermund has a background from the Armed Forces, and has a varied service experience from 40 years as an officer. Gjermund was a military adviser to NATO's Secretary General from 2014 to 2024, i.e. the ten years Jens Stoltenberg had the job. Gjermund holds a master's degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College in Washington, USA. He has also attended a two-year staff school at the Swedish Defence University in Stockholm, as well as the Staff College and the Military Academy in Oslo.
