NITO Personal Insurance provides you and your family financial security and ensures that you don't have to make lifestyles changes in an already challenging situation. The personal insurance policy comprises life insurance and disability insurance.

NITO Life Insurance 

NITO Life Insurance provides a tax-free lump-sum payment to your survivors in the event of your death. The money can be used to, for example, pay off debts and other expenses. NITO Life Insurance may be bought by both you and your spouse/cohabitant.

You decide the insurance amount and the beneficiaries.

NITO Disability Insurance Extra 

Should you suffer a disability or prolonged illness, NAV (Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) may not provide the financial security many think it will. NITO Disability Insurance Extra combines monthly advance payments after only 12 months of sick leave with a lump-sum payment of up to almost NOK 3.2 million in the event of permanent occupational disability. This insurance can be bought by you as a NITO member and applies until you turn 60 years of age.

You can buy NITO Travel Insurance to cover either an individual person or your family. It covers injuries, pays out insurance amounts that are higher than regular travel insurance cover, and applies to all travel lasting up to 90 days – and even for short trips to the local shops. The insurance policy also includes car hire excess cover.

NITO Accident Basic Insurance 

NITO Accident Basic Insurance offers you financial security should you be seriously injured in an accident. It covers treatment costs for accident injuries of up to NOK 50,000, payment of a daily allowance during hospital stays lasting more than five days, and compensation for permanent medical invalidity of up to NOK 1,000,000.  

NITO Expanded Accident Insurance 

If you choose this insurance, your whole family is covered should one or more of you have an accident. As well as receiving compensation for permanent medical disability, you can also receive payment of up to NOK 10,000 in the event of bone fractures. If you are single, this large insurance amount could come in handy.

Free start package for startups 

In cooperation with Tryg, we offer a free insurance package to NITO members looking to start up their own business. The package includes the most basic insurance policies absolutely free for the first six months after your business has been registered in the Brønnøysund Register Centre.

Requirements to subscribe to the insurance

Income Insurance

• Have a permanent address in Norway
• Be a member of the Norwegian National Insurance and have the right to a daily allowance from NAV in the event of any possible unemployment/layoff
• The member must have been permanently employed with at least 30-hour work weeks in Norway for the past 6 months
• Not have been unemployed/laid off during the course
  of the prior 6 months before subscribing to NITO Income Insurance
• Not be aware of impending unemployment/layoff
  when subscribing to NITO Income Insurance

NITO Personal Insurance

The insured must be a member of the Norwegian National Insurance.

NITO Travel Insurance

The insurance applies for persons who are permanent residents of the Nordic countries and are members of the Norwegian Government’s National Insurance.

NITO Accident Insurance

The insured must be a member of the Norwegian National
Insurance or an equivalent governmental insurance arrangement in the Nordic countries.

NITO Car Insurance offers flexibility and a wide range of options, including special benefits for electric and hybrid cars. You receive a start bonus of 70 per cent and coverage for personal injuries caused by traffic accidents in the whole of Europe for you and your family.
