Head of NITO Orthopedics, Ninnis, shares about the activity that has been going on in NITO Orthopedics lately.
NITO Orthopedics' very first webinar

First and foremost; we have made NITO orthopedics' very first webinar. It is a webinar that deals with the situation with NAV, the long case processing times and the regulations that make things a bit challenging.

The webinar is available here: Orthopaedic aids and regulations: What do the regulations say – and how are they interpreted? and it is encouraged to share it further.

If a lot of questions arise afterwards, we have the opportunity to make a follow-up webinar. If you are passionate about something, send me an email on  or contact one of us in the professional group.

Professional day on special shoes under the auspices of NITO Orthopedics

We have held a professional day where special shoes were the theme. The target group was orthopedic engineers and other professionals who work with special shoes, and we gathered a total of 50 participants

The day included a review of biomechanical principles for foot/special shoes and the effect of different wedges, as well as the use of materials. The NAV regulations were refreshed, and we heard about how the special shoe selection selects models that become approved special shoes.

We had a round of exchange of experiences where we talked about the collaboration between special shoe employees and orthopedic engineers, and also talked a little about what special considerations we need to take into account when choosing special shoes. Various players who sell special shoes also participated.

Pictures were shown of clever tips and tricks of rebuilding special shoes, and there was also some input from the audience. The day was rounded off with a discussion about when we should switch to orthopedically sewn footwear, and we agreed to hold a professional day on orthopedically sewn footwear on a later occasion.

ORTOgether on November 6-8 at Lily Country Club

Otherwise, the planning of ORTOgether continues. The program is almost finished and immediately ready for submission to design, and we hope to see as many people as possible. Based on the situation with NAV and case processing times, we have agreed to keep the participation fees as low as possible, so that as many people as possible can participate.
