Questions you often encounter
The working hours regulations can be complicated. Members may be wondering what is considered working time, or when they are entitled to overtime pay. At the same time, the management may come to you with a desire to enter into agreements that extend the framework for working hours.
As a union representative, you are not expected to know all the details of rams, but it is important that you know the main rules well enough to be able to give good advice and consider the employer's proposal.
This is what we go through in the course
In this course, you will get a practical introduction to the Working Environment Act's provisions on working hours.
We address the most common issues you encounter in everyday life. You will learn to distinguish between ordinary working hours, overtime and additional time, and you will get an overview of the rights that apply. We also look at what agreements you as a union representative can enter into on behalf of the members – for example, on average calculations, extended overtime and reduced time off work. You will be told what you should be aware of before signing such agreements.

- You will become confident in the main rules for different working hours and know what is ordinary working hours, additional time and overtime.
- You will be better equipped to guide members who have questions about overtime, travel time and flexitime.
- You know which working hours agreements you can enter into with the management, and get advice on how to safeguard the members' interests in such processes.
