Electricity prices, power development, security of supply and the green transition are among the most discussed topics in today's public debate. At the same time, electricity supply is central to the transition from fossil energy sources to a more sustainable energy system.
In this lecture, we meet Kjetil Lund, Director of the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE). With his background as an economist and many years of experience from public administration, he provides insight into some of the most important issues related to Norway's energy future.
Are we facing an electricity crisis? How can the challenges be solved? Will Norway again have a power surplus, or will both households and businesses have to adapt to a permanently higher price level?
This will be an exciting opportunity to gain an insight into the challenges, opportunities and choices that will characterise Norwegian energy policy and power supply in the years ahead.
Kjetil Lund (born 1970) is an economist and director of the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE). He has previously held key roles in the civil service, been state secretary in the Ministry of Finance and city councillor in Oslo. Since 2019, he has led NVE.
