Solution in the interim settlement in the state - see what they agreed on

Late on Wednesday 30 April, the parties reached an agreement in this year's interim settlement in the state.

The result is

  • a pot of 3.3 percent for local negotiations with effect from 1 May 2025.
  • The minimum wage for higher academic education is increased to NOK 518,500.
  • The minimum wage for research fellows and specialist candidates is increased to NOK 541,800.

"Last year was a very demanding settlement with strikes and the National Salary Board. So it is extra good to see that this year we managed to find a solution in the negotiations," says Kristian Botnen, head of NITO Stat.

"Distributing everything locally is both right and important. It gives the local parties the opportunity to find the solutions that solve their specific needs and challenges," he continues.

"We are satisfied with a total financial framework of 4.4 percent, which is in line with the frontline profession. This leaves room for real wage growth. It was also important to us that everything should be distributed locally," Botnen concludes.

The economics of the state settlement explained: How can 4.4 and 3.3 be the same?
