What you'll learn

NITO Intro 3 is the third and final course in NITO's basic training for union representatives. Here we go in-depth on key topics that give you increased security in your role. After the course, you will have basic knowledge of:

  • Working hours: You will learn how to handle matters concerning working hours, both for individual members and how to raise this to a collective issue.
  • Restructuring: You will receive an introduction to the tasks, roles and room for manoeuvre of union representatives in restructuring processes, so that you can safeguard the members' interests in the best possible way.
  • Employment: You will learn about the opportunities and limitations of hiring processes, and how you as a union representative can influence and ensure fair conditions.

The course places great emphasis on the exchange of experience and practical problem solving. Gain useful knowledge that you can use in your everyday life as a union representative.

Day 1

10.00 - 11.00: Welcome - introduction

11.00 - 13.00: Working hours – how to proceed in cases on behalf of individual members?

13.00 - 14.00: Lunch

14.00 - 16.30: Working hours - how to proceed in cases on behalf of all members?

16.30 - 18.30: Free

18.30 - 22.30: Joint program with dinner

Day 2

09.00-11.30: Restructuring – union representatives' tasks, roles and room for manoeuvre

11.30-12.30: Lunch

12.30-15.30: Employment – opportunities and limitations

15.30: Welcome home!

Practical information

  • You can get time off work to attend courses - remember to apply for time off as early as possible.
  • The course runs over two days, and we will book a hotel room for you. We assume that you participate in a joint dinner in the evening.
  • The course is free of charge – NITO covers expenses for both travel and accommodation.
  • You will receive information on how to book travel by email.
  • If you have extra expenses for babysitting or if you get time off without pay, you can get the expenses reimbursed.
