Crash Course Cyber Defense (CYB2100)

The course is particularly suitable for second-year students. Based on an assignment from the exam in 2025, you will work with the practical part of the subject. Among other things, there will be a review of information extraction, analysis of malware and how to write YARA rules. The course instructors will also demonstrate the tool Splunk.

The course is held by John Robert Lyster Russell and Kristian Fon. John Robert studies cyber security and has 14 years of experience with physical security from, among other places, Oslo prison. Kristian is an IT student and student assistant in Cyber Defence, and has previously been a student assistant in operations and security.

There will also be food served.
