The salary review - what is important to think about?

Entering into a salary review can be experienced as both exciting and uncomfortable. Many are unsure of what is "allowed" to ask for, and how they can best argue for the salary they believe is fair. In this digital lecture, you will get the tools you need to feel more secure – whether it is your first salary review or you have had many before.

Among other things, you will get answers to:

  • How to prepare a good salary interview – step by step
  • What expectations it is reasonable to have for salary development
  • How to use salary statistics and job content in your argumentation
  • How to handle counterarguments from the manager in a professional way
  • What you can do if your desired salary is not accepted

Course instructor Cecilie Klæboe has extensive experience as a course instructor for NITO, and is well acquainted with both the employee's and employer's perspective. She shares concrete examples, formulations you can use, and typical pitfalls you should avoid.

This lecture is for those who want to face the salary review better prepared, safer and more aware of their own rights and opportunities as a NITO member.

The lecture ends with ten minutes about the managerial perspective in a salary discussion. Feel free to give input to NITO during the stream if you want to set up your own course with this angle.
