NITO invites you to the launch of a report that has mapped how well Norwegian municipalities are equipped to ensure safety and emergency preparedness.
Climate change, extreme weather and aging technical infrastructure make security and emergency preparedness an increasingly demanding task for Norwegian municipalities. At the same time, the requirements for water, sewage and climate change adaptation are being tightened. The question is not only whether the municipalities have plans in place, but whether they have the capacity, expertise and investment capacity to manage the risk in practice.
On behalf of NITO, Menon Economics has mapped how Norwegian municipalities are equipped to ensure safety and emergency preparedness in the technical sector. The report "Towards harsh reality" provides new insight into how well the municipalities meet key requirements, where the differences between the municipalities are greatest, and how great the need for engineering expertise may be in the future.
At the launch, Menon will present the main findings, followed by a debate and contributions from politicians, union representatives and interest groups.
