Day trip to Titran, Frøya and Hitra

The NITO pensioners in Trøndelag South invite you on a trip, this time to Titran, Frøya and Hitra.

Program for the day

Departure from Nidaros Cathedral in Bispegata at 08:00. We drive south on the E6 before we turn onto the E39 past Orkanger before we take off on RV 714. This is known as the "Salmon Road" and has been significantly upgraded in recent years. Among other things, we drive over the Åstfjord bridge and through the subsea tunnel out to Hitra. Along the way, there will be a stop for leg stretches and a cup of coffee.

Once out on Frøya, we turn off towards Titran. Out here, on good weather days, you can look out to Smøla and Veiholmen. There is also a memorial to the so-called Titran accident in 1899 where about 30 vessels went down in a terrific storm and many lost their lives. 

After the visit here, we head on to Salmar's facility at Kverva where there will be a small tour of what today stands for a large part of the Norwegian salmon adventure. We leave Frøya and travel on to another exciting company out here in the ocean gap - Hitra Gårdsmat. Here you will have the opportunity to buy the award-winning cheeses from the small shop here.

The next stop will be the Coastal Museum where we get a tour before we go to Ansnes Brygger and have a 2-course dinner.

We drive the same way back and expect to be back in Trondheim at about 20:30.

Important practical information

• Boarding is at the Cathedral in Bispegaten, note departure at 08:00.
• The bus drives the E6 to Klett, then along the E39. There will be opportunities for boarding and disembarking along the driving route, state the desired stop when registering.
• Price for pensioner members in NITO Trøndelag South NOK 1.200,- Price for companions/non-members NOK 1.800,- If you have a companion, you tick this box when registering. Invoices for both are sent to the member.
• If you have to cancel after the registration deadline expires, travel insurance must be used. Invoices will be sent afterwards.
• Included in the deductible are;
