Take on positions
"Perhaps the most important thing is that it is fun to be a student representative. I recommend that you take on positions during your studies," says Aurora Røseth, former deputy head of NITO Students NMBU.
As a student representative, you are NITO's public face at your place of study. The local branch board at each individual campus is responsible for activities, local political work and making NITO visible to the students.

Get a kickstart on your career
You get to know many other engineering students and people from working life in your field around the country. You can learn from them and share experiences with, and you will meet them again in working life.
The network and experience you gain with project management is valuable when you are going out in your first job after studies.
Student representatives at NITO very often have more experience, which means that they get into a relevant job earlier than those who have not been union representatives.
Make a difference for others
As a student representative, you will be in positions that allow you to come up with ideas, input and suggestions for changes for the students of the future.
If there is something you can imagine should have been solved in a better way at your place of study, you will have the opportunity to influence and make a difference for others who come after you.
