Your student insurance will change from 1 January 2027
From 1 January 2027, NITO Student Insurance, which is included in your student membership, will change. Here you will get an overview of what will change, what will be continued, and whether you need to do anything.
In short
First of all: Tryg Legehjelp with expanded online mental health care continues unchanged.
From 1 January 2027:
- Today's NITO Student Insurance +MITT and +MEG are discontinued
- Tryg Legehjelp, including online mental health care, will continue
- NITO Travel Insurance Individual will be included in your membership
- You don't need to do anything to be transferred
What does this mean for you?
You still have insurance included in your student membership. However, from 1 January 2027, the insurance you have will change. From then on, you will have NITO Travel Insurance Individual instead of either home contents insurance (+MITT) or Disability and Accident Insurance (+MEG).
With the new solution, you get travel insurance included in your membership. It covers you when you are travelling, but does not cover your contents at home. If you still need home contents insurance or disability/accident insurance, you must make sure to buy this yourself.
What you get with NITO Travel Insurance
With NITO Travel Insurance, you get a year-round travel insurance included in your student membership. It has Tryg's best terms and conditions, and applies to all trips with a duration of up to 90 days, including to and from the convenience store, or when you walk the dog.

Do you live on your own? Then you should get home contents insurance
Many students own more than they think. Mobile phones, computers, headphones, clothes, bicycles and furniture can quickly represent great values.
Home contents insurance covers, among other things, damage to or theft of your belongings in the event of fire, water damage and burglary. Without home contents insurance, you risk having to cover the costs yourself.
NITO Home Contents Insurance Student
As a student member, you can buy NITO Home Contents Insurance Student at a member price.
The insurance covers, among other things:
- Fire, water and theft damage
- Accidental damage
- Theft of a locked bicycle
- Broken mobile screen
- ID theft
- Legal assistance
