Agreement in the Energy Agreement – this is the concrete result

NITO and Samfunnsbedriftene have agreed on a revised Energy Agreement II. The result gives NITO's members and union representatives several concrete improvements, from a strengthened salary development discussion to better rights in the event of illness in the family and welfare leave.

"We are very pleased with what we have achieved. The agreement has improved on several specific points that matter in the everyday lives of our members, and the negotiations have been characterized by good dialogue and close cooperation with Samfunnsbedriftene," says Oddvar Steinhaug (pictured), head of NITO Samfunnsbedriftene

The salary review becomes a salary development interview

NITO and Samfunnsbedriftene have agreed to change "salary discussion" to "salary development discussion" in the text of the agreement. It's not just a name change. The new text makes it clear that the manager and employee must work together to find measures for salary development, not that the manager evaluates the employee. The provision now establishes what the conversation must contain, and the right to bring a union representative with you has been strengthened. This is the same change that NITO got through in the KS agreement a few years ago.

Faster clarification of disagreements locally

The deadline for appealing the results of local negotiations has been brought forward to 1 November. For union representatives, this means a more efficient process after local negotiations, and members get faster clarification on their salary development.

Replacement day when time off in lieu falls on a public holiday

A new provision has been added that ensures compensation for days off in lieu that fall on public holidays or public holidays. If a planned time off falls on a public holiday, it must be replaced.

Advances of attendance allowance

The agreement now includes a provision that the employer advances attendance allowance. This is similar to what already exists in the KS Agreement and the Business Agreement, and provides members with important financial security in a demanding life situation.

Better framing of welfare leave

For the first time, a provision on welfare leave has been included in the Energy Agreements. This gives members a clearer right and a better framing of leaves related to welfare needs.

The unorganised are not a party to the negotiations

It is specified in the agreement that unorganised employees are not a party to the local negotiations. They have neither the right to negotiate nor the right to represent. This strengthens the role of union representatives and clarifies the value of being organised.

We have worked thoroughly with the requirements. To see that we can actually develop the text of our collective agreement directly together with Samfunnsbedriftene, it shows that we are listened to. NITO has a strong ownership relationship with Energy Agreement II, and we appreciate the good cooperation with Samfunnsbedriftene.
