Asked in the mediation: Risk of strike in state and municipality from Friday
After a break in the wage negotiations, mediation is now underway in the state, KS and Oslo municipality. The deadline for reaching an agreement is midnight on Thursday 28 May. If the parties do not find a solution, there may be a strike as early as Friday morning.
The wage settlements in both the central government, KS (the local government sector) and the City of Oslo all ended with a break in the negotiations earlier this spring, and now the responsibility lies with the National Mediator to try to gather the threads before the deadline expires at midnight on the night of Friday 29 May.
NITO negotiates together with Akademikerne in both the state and municipalities, and a possible strike will therefore also include NITO's members.
If the mediation does not succeed, a strike in the state will initially include around 900 members of Akademikerne, of which 71 are NITO members.
The following businesses will be affected by a possible strike in the state:
- Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Administration*
- Ministry of Finance
- Ministry of Health and Care Services
- Ministry of Transport and Communications
- Norwegian Directorate of Health
- Norwegian Institute of Public Health*
- Norwegian Public Roads Administration*
* here there will be NITO members on strike.
In the case of KS and the City of Oslo, the development of the mediation is awaited before it is announced which businesses and employees will be taken out on strike there.
