- Ready to pass on the baton
At the NITO Students' national meeting, a new leader, central board and nomination committee will be elected.
Exciting weekend
On 17-19 April, NITO Students will have a national meeting. Politics, annual report, budget, accounts, political statements and work programmes will be discussed. A new central board and nomination committee are also elected, as well as a new chair.
The national meeting is NITO Students' highest political body.
The current student leader in NITO, Sofie Strøm Olsen, is ready for an educational and interesting weekend.
- NITO Students will now adopt their policy with delegates from all our local branches. It will be a weekend filled with panel discussions, election campaigns, work with political campaigns and debate on the issues we will be discussing.
- We will also celebrate everything we have done over the past year with the gala on Saturday evening, which for many is one of the highlights of the weekend. We have really deserved it now that NITO Students has set a new record with over 17,000 members," she adds.
Educational period
Strøm Olsen has served two terms, and is now stepping down as leader of NITO Students. The role of student leader is a full-time position and is elected by the national meeting for one year at a time.
- It has been two absolutely fantastic years. I have gotten to know a lot of exciting people around the country, both students and working members, and not least been able to do a lot of political advocacy work.
- Over the past year, we have been in the media 27 times, had several politicians' meetings, carried out a large conference with over 130 participants and had two major campaigns. I am sure that everyone who has been part of the central board has gained very useful experiences that we will be able to use when we enter working life," she concludes.
