NITO named Partner of the Year for Kongsberg Agenda

"It is a fantastic recognition of an important job. Here we highlight the importance of our members for the development of society," says NITO President Kjetil Lein.

Hard work, focus and commitment over time have led to NITO being named Partner of the Year for Kongsberg Agenda.

The technology festival in Kongsberg has quickly grown to become one of Norway's most important meeting places for technology.

"Here we get to show how our members contribute to the development of technology in society. It will be extra fun to work with next year's festival when we have this award behind us," says NITO President Kjetil Lein.

Lein is particularly proud that Kongsberg Agenda has managed to mobilise young people.

"We have a job to do when it comes to equating science with technology. So it's fantastic to see several hundred school students doing lab exercises in Kongsberg, and through play ignite a glowing interest in the fields of engineers and technologists," he says.

Heidi Andersen, Gro Tvedt Andersen, Raymond Kristiansen and Christian Egil Follstad received the award on behalf of NITO.

Cheers for the partnership

"We have worked hard and purposefully to get the award. We came in second place last year, but this year we will be Partner of the Year. This is unexpected, and therefore it is no less gratifying. Thank you very much for the award," says Christian Egil Follstad, CEO of NITO Buskerud.

"We think it's great to receive this recognition for our members and to be able to show them off. That is the great value of participating in Kongsberg Agenda," he concludes.

Head of NITO Buskerud, Christian Egil Follstad.

The jury's statement

  • This year's winner stands out. This is a partner who has been with us for a long time, and who has built their commitment brick by brick. They have found their way to use the Agenda, and year by year they have become both clearer and better. They go the extra mile. They plan well, get involved and contribute across the entire Kongsberg Agenda.
  • They are present on several stages and in several disciplines.
  • They invite other actors in, are co-organizers of a number of program items and show the breadth of their own professional environments. They are not only visible on stage, but also create activity in the evenings. At the stand, they are playful and engaging, and at Agenda UNG they have really excelled with activities that create curiosity and interest in science among children and young people.
  • For us at Agenda, they show very clearly what a good Agenda partnership can be. They don't just participate in Kongsberg Agenda. NITO is involved in creating Kongsberg Agenda.

Kongsberg Agenda

  • Kongsberg Agenda is the technology festival that in a playful, curious and challenging way sets the premises for the national technology debate.
  • Agenda fills the urban space in the center of Kongsberg with hundreds of free debates, exhibitions, conversations, lectures, stands and activities. Common to all of these is how smart and sustainable use of technology in all industries can contribute to solving society's problems.
  • Over the course of four June days in 2025, as many as 35,000 people visited the festival, which represents an increase of 22 per cent from the previous year Norway.
