Do you want to be the contact person between your workplace and NITO BFI?

Do you want to help strengthen the biomedical laboratory scientists' professional network and become a contact person? As a contact person for NITO BFI, you will have a central role in disseminating information, arranging professional activities and promoting the interests of biomedical laboratory scientists. 

All hospitals and larger workplaces have the opportunity to have biomedical laboratory technicians as contact persons for NITO BFI. This role is voluntary and is not considered a position, and is suitable for those who are engaged in the field of biomedical laboratory sciences, and who want to be a bridge builder between NITO BFI and their workplace. As a contact person, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, build professional networks and contribute to the development of the biomedical laboratory technician profession.

How to become a contact person for NITO BFI

Becoming a contact person for NITO BFI is a simple process that involves the following steps:

  • Check if there is already a NITO BFI contact in your department.
  • If there is no contact person at your workplace/department, you can send an email to to register your interest or to get more information about what the role of contact person entails.
  • To ensure continuity, notify NITO BFI if the role is transferred to another biomedical laboratory scientist.
  • In the case of larger hospitals, one contact person should be chosen per department. Where appropriate, a main contact person can be established to have an overview of and coordinate other contact persons in your own enterprise.

As a contact person, you play an important role in maintaining communication between NITO BFI and your department, and ensure that biomedical laboratory technicians are well represented. We recommend close cooperation between NITO's union representatives and NITO BFI's contact persons.

What does the role of contact person for NITO BFI entail?

  • Distribute information from NITO BFI about membership benefits and events to biomedical laboratory technicians in your department.
  • Provide information from your own workplace about, for example, professional events, courses or current issues to NITO BFI.
  • Contribute to distributing information material and arrange local celebrations of Biomedical Laboratory Technician Day.
  • Use NITO BFI as a supporter in professional and professional ethical issues.
  • Assist NITO BFI centrally when help is needed to find the right professional for specific tasks.
  • Motivate biomedical laboratory technicians to disseminate professional activity in the journal Bioingeniøren.
  • Establish contact with NITO's company group at the workplace and use your role to contact the local union representative about topics that are relevant to the member group.
  • Contribute to the visibility of biomedical laboratory technicians at local events, for example.
