NITO BFI's Advisory Committee for Medical Biochemistry

NITO BFI's Advisory Committee for Medical Biochemistry (NITO BFI Medical Biochemistry) is the department's largest advisory committee and covers not only medical biochemistry, haematology and coagulation, but also pharmacology and hormone analyses. 

About the NITO BFI Medical Biochemistry Committee

The Committee works on relevant cases in medical biochemistry, arranges relevant professional courses and takes a stand on matters on behalf of the members in matters within the Committee's field of responsibility.

Mandate for NITO BFI Medical Biochemistry

The committee's tasks are as follows:

  • Be an advisor to NITO BFI's academic board and NITO BFI's members in matters concerning the relevant subject area. 
  • Contribute to the administration of specialist approval for biomedical laboratory scientists. 
  • Keeping in touch with and collaborating with relevant professional bodies, including educational institutions. 
  • Seek to influence development and organisation within the committee's subject areas. 
  • Based on the biomedical laboratory scientists' professional responsibility, contribute to professional development and quality development within the committee's subject areas. 
  • Be a reference group for NITO BFI's representatives in national and international forums regarding the committee's subject areas. 
  • Contribute with input and professional expertise to NITO BFI's course activities. 

In addition, there are various adhoc tasks and tasks that relate to the committee's subject areas. The mandate was adopted by NITO BFI's academic board at a meeting on 20-21 March 2017.
