Develop as a biomedical laboratory technician – apply for support from NITO BFI's study fund

If you are a working biomedical laboratory technician and a member of NITO BFI, you can apply for support from our study fund for professional development.

What is NITO BFI's study fund?

NITO's study fund has been established to support biomedical laboratory technicians who want to further develop their skills. The fund can cover expenses related to further education, participation in courses with posters and research projects.

When are the application deadlines?

Ordinary application deadlines are processed four times a year: 15 February, 1 May, 1 September and 1 November. The processing time is one month from the application deadline.

Please note that extraordinary funding may have separate announcements throughout the year – for example, research grants and poster grants for international biomedical laboratory science congresses.

Applications to the Student Fund

Applications to the study fund will be processed by the study fund's board, which assesses applications according to specific criteria and with regard to how often the member has received support from the fund. The board can provide support for other purposes if it is in line with BFI and the study fund's objectives.

Support from the study fund is a member benefit. In order to be granted funding, the applicant must be a member of NITO BFI both at the time of application and at the time of payment, and have been a continuous working member of NITO BFI for the past three years. In addition, the membership fee must be paid.
