Based on a new survey of how Norwegian municipalities handle safety and emergency preparedness in the technical sector, and experiences from a municipality that has been in demanding situations, we take a closer look at what works – and what is missing.
The goal is clear: to highlight concrete measures that can strengthen emergency preparedness in the municipalities, whether in terms of expertise, capacity, priorities or investments.
We also challenge leading politicians on what is needed to ensure good climate preparedness throughout the country.
NITO and Asplan Viak represent heavy engineering expertise from both practice and consultancy – with broad experience from the development, operation and climate adaptation of critical infrastructure in Norwegian municipalities.
