New main agreement with NHO
On 13 January, NITO and NHO agreed on a new main agreement for the next four years. See what are the changes in the updated agreement.
This is the main agreement
The main agreement between the two ensures the right of co-determination in workplaces where the employer is organised in NHO. Here you will find the rules of the game for cooperation between management and employees, rules for competence development, layoffs and much more.
The parties have agreed on several adjustments. Among other things, union representatives must contribute to the companies' restructuring that ensures innovation, the environment and climate. This is in line with NITO's adopted policy from the last congress.
Local agreements on co-determination
NITO and NHO emphasise the importance of good framework conditions for union representatives. They remind local parties of the opportunity to enter into agreements on practical forms of co-determination and co-influence.
Further work on expertise and bipartite cooperation
In the future, the key parties will use common arenas to discuss the provisions of the main agreement on mapping competence needs and implementation of competence plans. They will also take a closer look at the two-party cooperation and the balance between requirements for deliveries in the position and the necessary time for union representative work.
Self-care about the way forward
The head of NITO Privat, Yngve Sjølset, is very pleased with the negotiations.
"We have made a strategy to work long-term on several topics that are particularly important to NITO's union representatives and members. It is therefore a good start to take these topics further for discussion in the cooperation committee.
"We will provide more information at local events and concretize the changes together with union representatives at the central collective bargaining conference in March. We already recommend using the opportunity to enter into local cooperation agreements if this is not in place.
