Get involved in NITO – become a union representative

What do you want NITO to do? You can help improve your workplace and NITO by being a union representative. At the same time, you get the opportunity to develop yourself and others. You can find more information about the possibilities below.

You can help improve your workplace by being a union representative in NITO's company, group and agency groups. You can also influence what NITO should do by getting involved in the local branches or in central boards, councils and committees.

All NITO members can stand for election themselves or propose others.

Could this be something for you? Do not hesitate - contact the union representatives in your company group or in the nomination committees for a chat!

You can get involved where you work

As a union representative in NITO, you will have the opportunity to influence decisions concerning working conditions, pay and rights. You will also develop skills such as communication and negotiation, while also helping to strengthen the union and the working environment. It's a great way to represent your colleagues and secure their rights. At the same time, you learn a lot about the rules of working life and yourself.

Union representatives are elected at the annual meeting of the company group, or at the annual meeting of group and agency groups.

Many company, group and agency groups have their own nomination committee to which you can register your interest. If you do not know if you have it where you work, contact your union representative.

You can take up positions in NITO's local branches

Positions on the branch board give you the opportunity to influence local decisions, build networks, represent the members and develop your own leadership skills. It is a great way to contribute to NITO and make a difference for members and union representatives in your area.

Elections of the branch board and nomination committee are made at the departments' annual meetings, at the beginning of each year.
