Keep your membership list up to date – it benefits everyone
Take an extra look – is everything up to date?
Are all the members at your workplace registered in the company group? It is your responsibility as a union representative to ensure that the overview is correct. An up-to-date membership list is essential for everyone to receive the right information and to be able to participate in important decisions.
Why is this important?
During the year, changes often take place in the company – mergers, demergers and business transfers. Such changes affect NITO's list of members. Therefore, you must make sure that the members of the company group are registered with correct information about the employer, collective agreement and union representatives. This has an impact on who is invited to the annual meeting and what tools you get access to.
Here's how:
- Log in to the union representative tool on nito.no.
- Check and update the member overview.
- Remember that you can send emails directly to the members from the tool, for example when you call an annual meeting.

After the annual meeting – remember to update positions
When the annual meeting has been completed, you must register who holds which offices. Elections provide legitimacy in the work as a union representative, and registration provides access to more tools on nito.no. Use the tools actively – it gives you strength and support in the role.
Representation at the annual meeting in the local branch
The company group can authorize one or more people to represent the group at the annual meeting in the local branch. This ensures that all voices are heard, even if not everyone can attend. As a union representative, you fill out the form that is sent to the branch office.
