The local branches in NITO

There are 19 local branches across the country, close to the members of NITO. The departments are administered in five regions and make up a significant part of NITO's organisational department.

NITO where you are

NITO has 19 local branches spread out in all parts of the country, close to the members' workplaces. Your local branch board works on the basis of NITO's goals and plans to support members, union representatives and business groups. 

 

The departments are responsible for establishing and supporting the business groups in their department and must safeguard your interests. The department is an important meeting place for union representatives and members of NITO, and is a formal part of NITO's management system.

Region East

The region stretches from the Swedish border in the south, to Lillehammer in the north. The departments make up the bulk of engineers and technologists in Eastern Norway.

Region South

The region stretches from Drammen in the north, to Kristiansand in the south. The departments work across the board, and embrace the majority of engineers and technologists in the west of the Oslo Fjord and southwards.

Region West

The region stretches from the energy city of Stavanger, to far into the fjords of Vestland. With a regional office in Bergen, the departments cover a wide range of engineers and technologists in Western Norway.

Central Region

The region stretches from Sunnmøre in the south to Rørvik in the north, with the university city of Trondheim in the centre. The region organizes a large majority of both working engineers and technologists, but also engineering students.

Region North

The region stretches from Brønnøysund in the south, and all the way to Svalbard in the north. With a regional office in Tromsø, the region's departments work closely together to create a good and close offer to all engineers and technologists in the local area.

Bedriftsgrupper

A company group is a gathering of NITO members in a workplace. The union representatives in the company group represent and negotiate on behalf of all members.

NITO Studentene

NITO Students is the organization for master's and bachelor's students in engineering and technology. 13,000 student members at 25 campuses. The departments have an overall responsibility to follow up student representatives in the local branches at the campuses.

Kurs og arrangementer

NITO's local branches arrange courses, thematic meetings and important meeting places for members and union representatives. Courses and events are done both physically, when networking is an important element, and digital; to reach even more people.

Politisk påvirkning

As departmental representatives, we have a unique opportunity to influence local and regional politics. Together with NITO's socio-political department, the local department employs engineers and technologists; education and jobs on the agenda.
