Professor of Political Science Lise Rakner joins us this time where the topic is "Democracies in crisis: Is there a crisis, what does the crisis consist of and what can we do about it".

Lecturer Lise Rakner

Lise Rakner is a professor of political science at the Department of Politics and Public Administration, University of Bergen. His research interests range from the study of democracy, with a focus on democratic breakdown, human rights, the party system and elections.

She leads the research project "Breaking BAD: Understanding Backlash Against Democracy in Africa" (Frihumsam 2017-2021) and "Autocratization Dynamics" (Inpart/NFR 2022-2025).

 She is also employed as an adjunct researcher at the Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI), Bergen.
