Board, councils and committees in NITO BFI

NITO Institute of Biomedical Laboratory Sciences (NITO BFI) is organized with boards, councils and committees that work to promote the field of biomedical laboratory sciences. Here you will find information about the different organs and their functions.

NITO BFI's professional board

The academic board is elected by NITO BFI's members and is the department's highest body. The academic board works to influence the development of the biomedical laboratory science profession and the biomedical laboratory science education, in collaboration with NITO BFI's professional ethics council and the department's eight advisory committees.

NITO BFI's Professional Ethics Council

The Professional Ethics Council advises and guides the organisation and individual members on professional ethics issues. YER also assists NITO BFI's professional board in the work to raise awareness of ethical reflection guidance.

NITO BFI's advisory committee

NITO BFI has eight advisory committees covering most traditional laboratory specialties, research and education. As a member of an advisory committee, you get a unique opportunity to expand your professional network. The advisory committees are important tools for ensuring academic quality, anchoring, breadth and strategic direction in NITO BFI's work. They contribute with insight and professional knowledge and ensure that the role of the biomedical laboratory technician is safeguarded in the development of society.

NITO BFI's specialist committee

NITO BFI's specialist committee consists of members from the department's eight advisory committees, as well as an observer from the academic board.

The committee assesses candidates who apply for specialist approval for biomedical laboratory technicians in accordance with established guidelines, and is responsible for the approval of the individual candidate.

NITO BFI's Study Fund Board

NITO BFI's student fund board is managed by a board consisting of three members. The chair of the academic board is also the chair of the study fund's board.

In addition, two members are appointed by and from among the members of the professional board. The board processes and assesses applications to the study fund.
