NITO Intro 1 – Course for New Union Representatives

As a union representative, you are an important link between NITO members and management in the workplace. This course will introduce you to your role and provide you with useful tools to help you become a confident and effective representative for your members.

NITO’s union representatives are part of an important network. By taking part in our courses, you will also have the opportunity to connect with other union representatives.

This will be covered in the course: 

• Your role as a union representative
• Tools and resources available to you as a union representative
• Introduction to negotiations
• The people and resources available to support you

The course is conducted on Teams and requires active participation. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their own role as union representatives, ask questions, and share their experiences. Therefore, it is important to prioritize your time and avoid working on other tasks during the course. 

Practical Information: 

• This course will be held in English
• The link to the Teams meeting will be sent out 1-2 days before the course starts, so make sure to reserve the time in your calendar when you receive the participant confirmation.
• We recommend everyone to connect to Teams well before the course starts to ensure you have received the Teams link and that your audio and camera are functioning.
• The course is engaging, informative, and based on active dialogue via Teams. Therefore, we ask that you keep your camera on and sit in a quiet place where you won't be disturbed.
